Been dreaming of a home in the mountains? If your dream includes sitting on the porch listening to the sounds of a VERY noisy creek and watching the sun rise over the mountains then this well-cared for 3/3 is for you.   This inviting front porch runs the full length of the house giving you a great view of the pond, the creek and the mountains in the distance.  There's plenty of room for lots of rocking chairs.  You might even be tempted to position a patio table a chairs so you can enjoy a scenic dinner while the deer, turkey and other wildlife stop by for a quick graze in the yard.
If you can pull yourself away from the porch and the sounds of noisy Cody Branch, step inside and you'll find a large great room with cathedral ceilings and loads of room.  Although that cute gaslog fireplace is great for ambience, it's not just another pretty face. Thermostatically controlled with a remote, if you're a little chilly just grab the remote, push a button and before you know it, you'll be toasty and warm without ever chopping or hauling in wood!!   There are lots of windows to let in natural light, plenty of cabinets and countertop space and a full appliance package.   Take a stroll down the short hallway and you will find a master bedroom with walk-in closet and ensuite bath with shower.  In addition, there are two guest rooms and a full guest bath.
Head down to the finished basement via a wide comfortable stairway where you will find two large rooms and a full bath.  The possibilities here are endless - man cave, teenager hangout, theater room or just extra room to hang out with all your friends who will be visiting you in the mountains.   Completing the finished area is a laundry/equipment room (washer and dryer are included).    There's also access to the garage/workshop area as well.
When you're not relaxing after a fun day enjoying all the activities in the area, you'll definitely want to spend your days outdoors.  Pull yourself out of the rocker and off the porch and enjoy a game of croquet on beautiful level yard or grab a cane pole and see what you can catch in the pond.  Stately and adding tons of character, adjacent to the pond is a beautiful old barn with lots of stories to share. But don't forget the feature that attracted you in to this property in the first place - that LOUD rushing creek running the length of the front of your property.  About half of the 3.49 acre property is wooded and rises up behind the house with a moderate grade perfect to give the kid in your plenty of hours of fun hiking and exploring.
Located just about 15 minutes from downtown Robbinsville in the base of the Great Smoky Mountains, you will be close to all the fun activities the mountains have to offer.  If you like being on the water, Fontana Lake is very close by with several boat ramps and boat slip rental locations.  Make sure and check out the history of this man-made lake as it is quite interesting. You can also visit the dam and  picnic area.  If you're a bit of a thrill seeker, you can go white-water rafting, either with a guide or on your own, on the Nantahala River.  If you're not quite that adventurous you'll have a lot fun and photo opps watching the kayaks battle the intense rapids near the rafting take-out.  For the motorcycle enthusiast, Cody Branch is about 20 minutes from Deal's Gap and the start of the famed Tail of the Dragon with its' 318 curves in 11 miles.  If you're looking for a more relaxed day ride, why not take on the Cherohala Skyway to the west or the Blue Ridge Parkway to the east.  Motorcycle or not, if you're heading east you'll find Bryson City with it's quaint downtown antique shops, scenic train ride and community theatre to be a fun day trip.   Travel a few more miles and you'll find the Cherokee Indian Reservation and Harrah's Casino!   Leave Cherokee on Highway 441 and take a scenic 40 minute ride over Newfound Gap and you'll find yourself in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge - home of Dollywood and tons of outlet stores!  If you like history and nature, take a side trip off Hwy 441 toward Townsend and spend the day at Cades Cove.  There is also a campground here as well as horseback riding.  This is a great location for spotting elk, deer, black bear and other wildlife that call the Great Smoky Mountain National Park home.
In the mountains you can do it all or do nothing at all - the choice is yours!
